ETK was honored to take an active participance at International Data Science Conference 5.0, held in Belgrade, RS (16-21 November 2019). The slogan of the conference was “Change the world through data”.

Radmila Velichkovich, Business Research Partner DE and RS at ETK, gave a 3-hour workshop on the topic “Data Linkage with R programming language”. She has presented the concepts of linking different datasets, with and without unique ID. She demonstrated usage of tidyverse packages, known for efficient data wrangling and analysis, and as well packages for the purpose of linking, such as RecordLinkage, fastLink and Privacy Preserving Record Linkage.

On the Data Science Summit, Radmila participated in the panel discussion related to the foundation of a strong data science community in Serbia. The discussion resulted in number of concrete recommendations for strengthening the community, such as intensifying the collaboration among different NGO’s sharing the same mission, engaging people of different educational background in the community and enhancing data literacy.
